What is a Work Sample?
A work sample can be any paper, video, photo, or other item your child creates that shows evidence of their learning and progress. It’s helpful to save a few samples each year for each academic subject you teach so you can track and demonstrate your child’s growth over time.
Most children naturally produce work that can be saved as a sample. However, if your child has special needs and is currently unable to create typical work samples, this requirement does not apply to you. Instead, keeping several dated journal entries each year describing their activities and progress will be perfectly acceptable.
Use your best judgment in all aspects of your homeschooling. Strive to maintain records that demonstrate you are educating your child in a way that is appropriate for their developmental level.
