High School Credits Approval
Wet Mountain School reviews all courses and credits submitted by high school students enrolled in the Diploma Program. Once approved, these credits are added to the student’s official Wet Mountain School transcript and fulfill graduation requirements. To help avoid surprises, Wet Mountain School strongly encourages families to create and submit a high school plan for review and approval.
To create a high school plan, visit your student’s records page, click on “High School Plan,” and enter the courses and credits. You can edit and request a review of your plan at any time.
Semester Credit Approval Process
Each semester, Wet Mountain School reviews all submitted high school credits. This process serves two key purposes:
- To ensure the student’s transcript accurately reflects their academic achievements for future colleges or employers.
- To enable Wet Mountain School to confidently issue an official transcript and diploma, signed by a Wet Mountain School administrator.
In most cases, credits are approved promptly if everything appears satisfactory.
Credits Pending Approval
If there are questions or potential discrepancies, credits will be marked as pending, and you will receive a detailed explanation of any needed clarifications or corrections. Common reasons for pending status include:
- Unusually high or low credit totals for a semester
- Courses categorized in unexpected ways (e.g., electives classified as core subjects)
- Missing graduation requirements as the student approaches 12th grade
Once Wet Mountain School confirms the accuracy of the information and the credit amounts align with your student’s academic progress, the credits will be approved and applied to the official transcript and diploma.
Unapproved Credits
Although rare, Wet Mountain School reserves the right to reject credits if they do not meet expectations. This may occur if:
- The reported credits significantly deviate from typical study hours without adequate explanation
- Additional documentation requested is not provided or does not justify the credits submitted
In such cases, students may not graduate or receive a Wet Mountain School diploma. Families can still submit unofficial grades and transfer those courses to their homeschool, creating their own transcript and diploma independently.
Parental Responsibility for Credit Approval
Wet Mountain School will notify you of any concerns related to credit submissions. However, it is the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian to make necessary corrections and confirm that credits will be accepted toward a Wet Mountain School diploma.
