Attendance Requirement

Students enrolled in Wet Mountain School must complete a minimum of 172 instructional days each school year. For students who enroll mid-year, this requirement is adjusted by subtracting the number of days already completed before enrollment.

During the enrollment process, you will enter your child’s planned attendance for each month. This planned attendance will automatically be recorded as reported attendance at the end of each month. Once you submit the planned attendance, there is no need to provide additional attendance updates unless you wish to make changes. Both planned and reported attendance can be edited at any time during the same school year.

This attendance policy helps protect your child from truancy concerns and ensures compliance with Colorado’s legal requirements for instructional days. The local board of education may request attendance records from Wet Mountain School as often as once per month (refer to C.R.S. 22-1-114 regarding statements from private schools). To meet Colorado law, attendance records must show at least 172 days of instruction per school year, adjusted accordingly for mid-year enrollment.
