High School Enrollment: Cover-Only Option
Choose the Cover-Only enrollment option for high school students who do not require an official Wet Mountain School transcript or diploma.
How to Assign High School Credits
You can assign credits using one of two methods: Content-Based Credits or Time-Based Credits.
Content-Based Credits
Many commonly used curricula specify recommended credit values for each course. Typically, standard core subjects such as math or science are assigned 1.00 credit per full course, regardless of the actual time your student takes to complete it.
Time-Based Credits
For courses without clearly defined credit values or curricula suggestions, you can assign credits based on time spent. Generally:
- 120 hours = 1 credit for elective courses
- 150 hours = 1 credit for standard core courses
- 180 hours = 1 credit for honors core courses
Reporting Semester Credits for Year-Long Courses
For courses spanning two semesters, divide the total credit evenly between semesters. For example, a 1.00-credit core course completed over two semesters would be reported as 0.50 credit per semester. The combined credits from both semesters represent the full year credit.
College/Dual Enrollment Courses
Credits for College Courses
Wet Mountain School recommends using the traditional conversion between college and high school credits commonly accepted by schools. If you wish to submit credits exceeding this standard, please contact Wet Mountain School for guidance.
